TikTok is taking over the world, gradually in older spheres, all at once among young people. The short-form video platform is mostly populated by teens, who become its stars.
But not exclusively. Now, frontliners such as healthcare workers, security guards, janitors, police, and army are getting in on the fun. Scroll past the teens who film themselves flossing (that’s the dance, not the act of dental hygiene) and the young activists satirizing the issues of the day, and you might find a physician thrusting furiously to a Ciara song. With the pandemic still in full swing, Filipino frontliners are finding new ways to release stress and have a bit of fun, taking to TikTok to make short humorous videos of them dancing and lip-syncing. From healthcare workers singing the viral Fli Fla Flo song to a security guard mimicking a baby’s voice, here’s a compilation of TikTok videos from our frontliners who spread cheer and make this quarantine more bearable.
