‘Looking good’: Minister hints at whether restrictions could ease in NSW


Government officials will meet today to discuss when restrictions will ease in NSW and it’s ‘looking good’ according to one senior minister.

NSW has not experienced a local case of COVID-19 for more than five weeks.

Speaking to 2GB’s Ben Fordham, Customer Service Minister Victor Dominello said he was about to enter a crisis cabinet meeting to discuss potential changes.

“We’ll have discussions there, but you know … based on the data it is looking good,” he said.

“The people in NSW have stood up over the last 12 months but again these are discussions we are about to have.”

He will address the media later on Wednesday, flanked by NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and chief health officer Dr Kerry Chant.

Restrictions have eased gradually over the last couple of months since the December outbreak.
