A seven-year-old girl from Ilocos region has died due to Covid-19, making her the youngest known coronavirus victim in the country.
Based on the Department of Health’s (DOH) report, the girl is identified as PH 2415. She died on March 26 and is the Philippine’s 107th fatality. Her Covid-19 test result was released on March 31.
The report also said that the child had no travel history, cause of death listed in her papers are hypovolemic shock secondary to acute gastroenteritis, severe dehydration, and pediatric community-acquired pneumonia.
As of writing, the Philippines already reported 136 death due to the pandemic 2019, with over 3,108 people infected and 52 successful recoveries.
