Dalgona! Dalgona! DALGONAaaa…….

This word is echoing in the internet space like a mantra. And of course, with the amount of free time we have on our hands, we are doing our bit to make it viral. But the one thing which we find baffling about dalgona coffee is how the world attributes it to South Korea. We Indians have been drinking dalgona coffee since forever, except we know it as beaten coffee. 

That said, if this lockdown and those drool-worthy viral videos of dalgona coffee are urging you to pick up the spoon again and start phetoing, then we are here to help you make it healthier 

Presenting, the healthy version of dalgona coffee, made by swapping a few ingredients. So, let’s begin… shall we?


2 tbsp instant coffee
2 tbsp coconut sugar 
2 tbsp hot water
100 ml soya milk
4-5 ice cubes
Unsweetened cocoa powder for garnishing


1. Take a bowl and add instant coffee, coconut sugar, and hot water. Mix gently, until the coffee dissolves in the water.
2. Now take a hand blender and whip the coffee until it turns light brown in color and fluffy. This will take about 5 to 7 minutes. In case you don’t have a hand blender, then you can use a spoon. Though this may take longer.
3. In a cup, add a few ice cubes. Pour soya milk over it.
4. Add the whipped coffee generously on top of the milk.
